My Cost of Being One of The Lady CEO

There are pains and challenges that time and maturity may teach us to brush aside, yet the cost of being a Lady CEO has left in me a suffering that is indelibly marked out. It stands as an eternal reminder that my calling did not come free of hardship, shadows, and sacrifice. There are moments that make you wonder whether it is worth pursuing such a path, for it is often those you love most who bear the weight of the chastisement that accompanies your journey. And yet, this is the price of a calling, a cost not chosen, but one that had to be paid. For the world is not fair, and the road to purpose is rarely gentle.

From an early age, my daughter carried within her an extraordinary passion for greatness. At just nine years old, her talent and determination were undeniable. Yet, in our pursuit of building a future in United States having come from Philippines, her mother as a nurse and businesswoman, with her father as a computer engineer, we often lacked the time to fully nurture the gifts God had placed in her. As the years went on, the weight of that missed opportunity began to reveal itself more clearly. I can't go back to correct the past.

By the age of eighteen, still driven by her deep desire to accomplish much, she faced a breaking point and suffered an emotional distress. My daughter has a story that is her own to tell, and with all respect, I know it is a story entrusted to her by God. It is her calling, and one I cannot diminish. Yet even in her darkest moments, grace found her. Our grandson became her redemption—a new purpose that breathed light into her brokenness. Through him, she was reminded that life can begin again, even after pain and mistakes. What once seemed like only loss became, by the mercy of God, a turning point that continues to shape her path today.

Silence may have been easier. It may have seemed safer and far less costly. But to remain silent would be to deny the very reason why she encountered trials of such great magnitude. If it would be a freedom for others, it will be her choice to speak out.
